Vaccination e-certification and eyeglasses prescriptions were added to the Dubai Health app in a November 2023 update. HASANA, the DHA's immunisation system, served more than 15.8 million people and covered 991 health facilities by October 2023, according to Dubai Media Office.

Sick leave after a video consultation

The DHA's Standards for Telehealth Services (Issue 4, effective 26 November 2025) limit sick leave issued through telehealth to a maximum of three days per week. They also require the provider to confirm your identity with at least three identifiers, such as full name, date of birth and Emirates ID number, so have your Emirates ID to hand.

Healthcare workers have a separate view: the DHA app's Professional Dashboard shows licensed professionals their licence details, CPD points, sick leave and inspection information.

Not every remote service issues sick leave at all. The DHA's 2020 guide to its free Doctor for Every Citizen telemedicine service said sick leave was not issued through that service, and that clinical examinations needed a separate appointment. Check the current position when you book. Our guide to telemedicine in Dubai covers the wider rules.

Medical fitness

Dubai Health lists 20 medical fitness centres among its facilities. Once you have had the test, the Dubai Health app shows progress in real time, and the DHA's website says its own app also lets residents check a medical fitness application's status. Both apps accept UAE PASS sign-in. The Dubai Health app also has an interactive map of hospitals, health centres, specialty clinics and fitness centres, which helps when finding the nearest location.

Premarital certificates

Since June 2021, Dubai residents have been able to apply for, pay for and download a DHA premarital certificate through the DubaiNow app, Hi Dubai reported at the time.

What to check
