Cycle Safe Dubai runs group rides on closed cycle tracks and promotes safe cycling and road etiquette. Its listing on the Hopasports platform, which shows rides scheduled up to 31 December 2026, sets out three regular sessions:
- Revolution Nights, Tuesdays 7.30pm to 9.30pm, from the first car park on the Al Qudra Cycle Path, over 35km or 45km.
- Saturday Sessions, 6am to 9am, from 35km up to 104km. The 35km and 45km rides are described as beginner rides.
- Legendary Coffee Morning Ride, Sundays 6am to 9am, about 60km with a coffee stop.
Riders meet under the tent at the “Bottom of the Stick” car park, just past Town Square and Mira. Yearly membership costs AED 650 and includes a club kit. The listing is blunt about helmets: “NO HELMET NO RIDE!”
Dubai Roadsters
The Sunday ride, hosted on the Wolfi's bike shop website, is fast and large: around 120 riders head out on roads and highways to Academic City and back. The short route is 75km and the standard Sunday distance is 120km, and riders need to hold about 38km/h. The group may split onto Meydan Road and regroup at a water stop at 27km. The start time shifts twice a year with the weather.
There is no fee to ride, but regular riders are asked for an annual contribution towards the follow-car programme; confirm the current amount with the group, as the figures on the page are from an earlier season. Before your first ride you'll need:
- A bike in good working order, a helmet, and lights for early starts.
- Experience riding in large groups.
- A spare tube, pump and tyre levers, and the know-how to fix a puncture.
- Plenty of water, and sun cream if you burn easily.
- A completed Rider Information Card, free from Wolfi's.
Updates go out through the Dubai Roadsters Facebook group. Wolfi's also lists weekly community rides on routes around Meydan, Academic City, Silicon Oasis, Al Khawaneej and Mirdif Park; ask the shop for current times.
Where Dubai's groups ride
- Al Qudra Cycle Path: dedicated desert asphalt with rest points and no traffic lights; flat, but windy in winter and early spring.
- Nad Al Sheba Cycle Park: lit loops of 4km, 6km and 8km on a former camel-racing circuit, with lockers, changing rooms, showers and an 850m children's course.
- DXBike Meydan: two lit loops of 5km and 9km, used for night rides and interval work.
- Al Khawaneej and Al Warqaa: riders combine loops for 30km to 50km sessions with little climbing.
- Mushrif Park: gravel areas and light mountain-bike trails.
- Hatta Mountain Bike Trail Centre: open 24 hours and free to use, according to a December 2024 guide.
Try a ride in November
During the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Ride on 1 November 2026 offers a 4km family route through Downtown Dubai and a 12km route on Sheikh Zayed Road. The Al Warqa'a Park Fitness Village has a 2.8km running and cycling track with bike rentals. See our Dubai Fitness Challenge explainer.
Before you go
- Ask the group which ride matches your pace; a 38km/h bunch is not a first group ride.
- Ride early in the warmer months, and carry more water than you think you need.
- Find more clubs by area in our Directory.
For general information. Ride times, routes and fees change; check with the group before you go.
